Instagram is one of the most powerful social networks of the moment and, above all if you have a company, you need to be present buy 50 instagram likes buyiglikes. But … it’s not enough to just be, but you have to do things well, plan a good strategy and take care of every detail.
Here I will explain 8 tips so you can get the most out of Instagram.
THE FIRST: HOW DOES INSTAGRAM WORK?
Before we start, we need to know why we want to be on Instagram. What can you give us? Is our target audience here? What is our goal? We must look for answers to questions like these, since it is not worth “going on the fly”. We have to know where we want to go and think how we can achieve it .
What content can we post on Instagram? Photos, videos, animations … All audiovisual content has a place in this social network.
Along with the content we want to share, we have the opportunity to add a text as a description, add a specific location and tag other users.
A recent novelty is Instagram Stories: publications that are visible for 24 hours, which users have received with great appreciation. We have to know the different tools at our disposal to be able to use them in the best way.
WHAT USE DO USERS GIVE INSTAGRAM?
We use Instagram to tell our life. We feel the need to tell what happens to us, the places where we are … Having we gone to a very cool restaurant? We publish it together with a photo of the dish we have eaten. This is how it works … Also, it is normal to follow companies, celebrities or influencers that we like. That is the use of the public on Instagram (which surely many of us do).
# 1 MEMORABLE USERNAME
We start with the simplest and the first thing you should decide when you start on Instagram: Your username
Your name should be short, without numbers or symbols and easy to remember. If you are a company, you should use the same name, as it will make it easier for people interested in your brand to find you.
# 2 QUALITY CONTENT
Content of all kinds abounds; of bad and good quality. But, if we want to succeed, we have to share quality content. Photos moved, crooked or blurred are not effective.
Getting beautiful photos is not difficult, because we all have images in our reach with good cameras and retouching applications such as VSCO or the same Instagram filters.
Even so, we have to keep in mind some details to make our photos in conditions:
- GOOD LIGHTING
We have to monitor the lighting of our photos. Getting a bright photo will allow us to modify details how the sharpness or contrast of our photos afterwards.
To achieve this we must look for a place with good light to make the photos, preferably natural. If it is outdoors we will have it easier, but indoors it is good to look for very bright spaces thanks to, for example, the windows.
- EDIT YOUR PHOTOS
Even if you manage to make a photo that you like, editing the photos is a good practice (although in its correct measure, of course). We can do it with the same Instagram application or with other applications such as VSCO or Snapseed .
Some parameters that we must take into account for editing are contrast, exposure, temperature, shadows and sharpness.
I leave you a tutorial and a YouTube video very useful to learn how to edit your photos with VSCO.
- USE YOUR MOBILE’S GRID
If you take pictures with your mobile phone, use the grid. This tool will help you to frame our photos much better.
# 3 USE THE #HASHTAGS WELL
A hashtag will help other users to find you by doing specific searches on a specific topic.
For example, if our company is for children’s clothing in Madrid we can choose between using some general ones like #Textil # Niños #Madrid or using some more specific ones like # RopaNiña #RopaInfantil #ModaInfantil. With general hashtags your posts will be lost among hundreds of thousands, so they are less recommended, while specific hashtags make it easier to show your publication and reach an audience interested in your product.
WHERE IS IT ADVISABLE TO PUT THE HASHTAGS?
TIP 3: Hashtags on InstagramWe do not want to reload and ‘bother’ our followers with these labels. Therefore, although we can put one or two Hashtags well thought out in the description, it would be advisable to write them in a second comment.
This will continue to appear in searches for these Hashtags, but they will remain ‘hidden’ and will not be seen at the user’s first look at the publication.
# 4 INTERACTS
Do not just be a ‘good publisher’, you also have to interact with users, make noise. Follow other users related to your sector, comment on the publications and give ‘likes’ . The more you interact, the more visible you will be. This way you will get other related users to follow you and also interact with you.
And if you interact with accounts with engagement, the better. A good example of that are accounts like MrWonderful or WestWing Spain , which interact with accounts with engagment, where their target audience is also (in this case, in the account of @Tamara_st )
# 5 YOUR COMMUNICATION
Instagram is a social network with which we can humanize our brand or company, so making use of extremely serious communication is not recommended. We can use a language closer , according to the target audience to which we are going, and even use emojis .
This more ‘informal’ communication works, for example, in the case of AulaCM , which is why they use emojis in the text of their publications.
# 6 CONSTANCIA
Be constant Think how many publications you will do a week and complete it. It is better to publish fewer times and be constant, than one day to make many publications and then be several days without sharing anything.
# 7 BE VERY CREATIVE
To differentiate yourself from others you need to be creative, show your best ideas and surprise.
If you are a person, you know your virtues better than anyone … communicate them creatively. And if you are a brand or company, you also know your product better than anyone, so you should know how to show them to the public and love them. Let’s do it!
# 8 INSPIRES YOU IN THE BIG ONES
Look at the competition or your favorite instagrammers , what kind of publications they do, how they interact with their followers … and imitate them. If it works for them, why not you?
– PRACTICAL CASE
I manage the Goyart online decoration store and in the last months I have worked on improving the content I post on Instagram.
In whom I fixed when making my publications?
What conclusions did I draw? They published more visual content, with compositions and decorative examples with their products in different spaces. These publications produce more interactions than another type of content.
