You may have been amused the last time you were in a Chinese restaurant to see that the fortune cookies given out at the end of the meals have lottery numbers in them. But has anyone every really won free stuff by using the numbers found in fortune cookies?
Believe it or not, a couple of people have won lottery jackpots and other free stuff by using the number combination’s they found inside fortune cookies. Apparently the practice of putting lottery numbers in fortune cookies is becoming a widespread practice among fortune cookie manufacturers. People seem to give more credibility to the numbers that are inside the cookie simply because it is a “fortune” cookie is a bird flying in the house good luck, and thus they are willing to play the numbers.
Many lottery players have stated that the messages inside cookies have turned out to be omens of good luck. This was the case recently for an Indianapolis, Indiana man and his girlfriend. The man said the message inside his cookie foretold “fast financial turns” in his immediate future. His companion’s cookie predicted that “someone dear to her” was going to become financially stable. The next day he won $11 million in the Indiana Power ball game.
A few days ago, my wife and I received cookies with the Chinese takeout we brought home. Sure enough, inside were two slips of paper. on one side of the slips were these truisms: “You have an ability to sense and know higher truth,” and “You have an active mind and a keen imagination.” Both these statements were clearly true. On the back of these slips were two lottery combinations, but neither of us won any money or free stuff by playing those numbers.
